Baseball Recap: Wekiva Gets the Win

While Wekiva's win against Evans wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wekiva Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Evans Trojans 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jaden Graham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Reinert, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Wekiva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wekiva's record is now 4-9. As for Evans, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Wekiva will be playing in front of their home fans against Mainland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evans, they will head out to face off against Gateway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Gateway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
