On Friday Union Pines take on Randleman at 7:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Union Pines, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
Union Pines took their matchup against Providence Grove last week by a conclusive 34-12 score. Union Pines' success was spearheaded by the efforts of junior Rory Board, who passed for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns, and junior Tyreek Mccoy, who rushed for 135 yards and 1 touchdown. One of the most thrilling moments of the contest was Board's 65-yard TD pass in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Randleman didn't have too many spare points in their match with Ledford Senior, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win.
Their wins bumped Union Pines to 2-1 and Randleman to 3-0. The Randleman defense had it out for the quarterback last game and accrued 6 sacks, so hopefully Union Pines's offensive line has put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the game.
