1A Southern Peaks recap October 8, 2013
Centauri extended the longest winning streak in 1A Southern Peaks this week by beating Ignacio, 58-16. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Falcons.
Monte Vista took down Del Norte 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Michael Sanchez threw for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
He went 11-16 with 1 interception.
KC Jarvies was a passing and rushing force as Centauri beat the Bobcats. He completed 13 passes for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 2 yards. Jarvies' key target this week was Clay McCarroll, who caught 6 passes for 106 yards.
McCarroll was the best wideout in the league this week as Kyle Forster's team bested Ignacio. McCarroll tallied 6 receptions for 106 yards. Jason Buhr helped Centauri's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 85 yards.
Centauri's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jarvies has thrown for 918 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while McCarroll has 19 catches for 371 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Center takes on Lupe Huerta's team. The Vikings are currently in second, while the Bobcats are in fourth.
Center and Dolores played the closest game in 1A Southern Peaks this week, with Center eventually emerging with a 2-0 victory. Gustavo Nungaray ran for 110 yards in the win.
