The Veterans Warhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Houston County Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Veterans' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Veterans at home against Swainsboro as the squad secured a 81-49 win.
Veterans had a senior duo take command as Antonio "Tone" Scott scored 19 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals and Chandler Thomas dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Scott's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaivyon Dawson, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Houston County waltzed into Saturday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on Perry with a sharp 63-43 victory.
Veterans now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Houston County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Veterans came up short against Houston County when the teams last played back in January, falling 55-44. Can Veterans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
