Volleyball Recap: Milpitas Has No Trouble Against Santa Clara

After losing to Santa Clara the last time they met, Milpitas decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Milpitas Trojans put the hurt on the Santa Clara Bruins with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Milpitas not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Santa Clara between 18 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Elvis Le paced Milpitas' offense, picking up nine kills. Le got some help from Ethan Chan and his 20 assists. Finally, Ryan Saxelby kept Milpitas' defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Milpitas' record is now 4-2. As for Santa Clara, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milpitas will venture away from home to take on Independence at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Clara, they will head out to square off against Wilcox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
