Diablo Valley recap November 13, 2013
Clayton Valley Charter extended the longest winning streak in Diablo Valley this week by beating Northgate, 56-28. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Ugly Eagles.
Clayton Valley Charter moved up to 118 from 166 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Tim Murphy's team was able to move up by besting the Broncos 56-28.
MITCH DANIELS threw for 249 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 19-27 with 0 interceptions.
Miles Harrison provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Ugly Eagles defeated Northgate.
Harrison was a force in the backfield as Clayton Valley Charter topped Justin Lowell's team.
MALIK BLACKBURN was the best receiver in the league this week as Concord beat Mt. Diablo. BLACKBURN tallied 3 receptions for 66 yards. MASON KNIGHT helped Concord's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 45 yards.
Leading Diablo Valley in both passing and receiving yards, the Minutemen's DANIELS and KNIGHT have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback DANIELS has thrown for 2,607 yards this season, while KNIGHT has 72 catches for 1,055 yards. Harrison from the Ugly Eagles leads the league in rushing with 1,360 yards.
At the moment, the Broncos are in second, while College Park is in fourth.
The Red Devils lost to Concord 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
