Basketball Recap: Corona Piles Up the Points Against Orange

A well-balanced attack led Corona over Orange in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Corona Panthers blew the Orange Panthers out of the water with an 81-45 final score. Corona has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sebastian Nunez, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mark Hernandez-Chino, who earned 11 points.

The win (which was Corona's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Orange, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Corona has already played their next game, an 80-48 victory against Granite Hills on the 17th. Orange will take on Anaheim in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orange has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
