It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Gridley Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Live Oak with points to spare, taking the game 31-12. The win was just what Gridley needed coming off of a 35-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Gridley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gus Stogsdill, who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Brown, who rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries.
Gridley's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Live Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Gridley will head out on the road to face off against Orland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Orland's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Live Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
