Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Eastern's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rossville, Eastern was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 16-13 win over the Manchester Squires. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their two-run performance the match before.

Owen Tolle was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bently Hullinger, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Eastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester only posted a batting average of .265.

Eastern has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Manchester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Maconaquah on the 3rd. As for Manchester, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Fort Wayne Wayne on the 2nd.
