The Bloomfield Cardinals will head out to  take on the North Daviess Cougars  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.

 Lila Koontz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed three innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   two  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Koontz wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Madilyn Feiteira, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double. Those  RBI marked the first that  Feiteira  brought in this season.
 Meanwhile, North Daviess waltzed into their contest  on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hatchets  a   5-0 shutout.
 Bloomfield's record now sits at 3-4. As for North Daviess, the  victory was their first  on the road , bumping their record up to 8-2.
 Bloomfield couldn't quite finish off North Daviess when the teams last played  back in April of 2024 and fell  5-3. Can the Cardinals avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
