After losing to the Burroughs Burros the last time they met, the Victor Valley Jackrabbits decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Victor Valley walked away with a 56-43 win over Burroughs on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Victor Valley.
ISAIAH BUTLER continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season.
Burroughs' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cory Kent, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Kent continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Brady, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
The win got Victor Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Burroughs, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victor Valley will face off against Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burroughs, Burroughs and Hesperia will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hesperia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Burroughs in California (Hesperia is ranked 167th, while Burroughs is ranked 705th).
