Baseball Game Preview: Wahoo/Bishop Neumann Warriors vs. Arlington Eagles

Wahoo/Bishop Neumann has gone a perfect 4-0 against Arlington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

While Wahoo/Bishop Neumann's win against Douglas County West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcon a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 11th.

Not much got past Kaden Christen, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Douglas County West off the board. Christen has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jack VanSlyke and Isiah Nagle did most of the damage at the plate: VanSlyke went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Nagle went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Nagle has become a key player for Wahoo/Bishop Neumann: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 7-9 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Arlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to Platte Valley.

The win got Wahoo/Bishop Neumann back to even at 10-10. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
