Lance Jones was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Walker Bunnell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 15 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Turkeyfoot Valley Area lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Nicholson. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Nicholson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Younkin, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
Even though they lost, Turkeyfoot Valley Area smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salisbury Elk Lick only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Salisbury Elk Lick has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.
Salisbury Elk Lick will take on Rockwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they will head out on the road to square off against Hyndman Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hyndman Charter School is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
