The Ulysses Tigers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Liberal on the road and fell 84-52. Ulysses lost against Liberal in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 74-60 score last time.
Liberal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Chamberlain led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 4 steals. James Fieser was another key contributor, scoring 26 points.
Ulysses' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Liberal, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Ulysses will face off against McCook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberal, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley Center at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
