After a string of three wins, the Morgan County Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cross Creek by a score of 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Morgan County has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Morgan County still got an impressive performance from Jaden Young, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymora Smith, who scored five points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micheala Bogans, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Bogans is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tierra Turner, who scored six points along with six steals.
Morgan County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9. As for Cross Creek, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Morgan County will take on Harlem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlem will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Morgan County is ranked 187th). As for Cross Creek, they will be playing at home against Hephzibah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
