The Jackson Fighting Indians came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 52-40 victory over Charleston. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jackson also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kole Deck led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Holdman, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds.
Several Bluejays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ko'terrion Owens, who scored 13 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Owens posted two or more blocks. Zachyran Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Charleston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Fighting Indians are ranked 49th). As for Charleston, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Panthers at 8:00 p.m.
