Alanee Wheeler was a major factor in Union's victory over Sebastopol on Tuesday. Wheeler struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Wheeler's strong effort led Union over Sebastopol and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 50 places lower in Mississippi), but they're not letting that get them down.
