The Gautier Gators lost against the Stone Tomcats back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Gautier fell 42-32 to Stone. Gautier has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jabori Moye, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Moye continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JaKobey Johnson, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Gautier has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Stone, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gautier will take on Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Stone, they will be playing at home against Poplarville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Poplarville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
