Whitehaven (Memphis, Tenn.) received a huge boost from its defense against Collierville (Tenn.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating Collierville (Tenn.), 42-7.
After taking the lead on a
Mark Dodson Jr. touchdown run in the first quarter, the Tigers led 28-7 at the half.
Whitehaven expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Patrick Smith touchdown run.
Dodson Jr. stood out for the Memphis school in the win. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.
The Dragons' lone touchdown came on a 15-yard pass in the first quarter.
The Tigers had given up an average of 8.9 points prior to the contest.
