The River Pilots had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 48-15 win over Fairfield Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for River, who have now won seven contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Fairfield Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Danny Blair. Despite the final result, he rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
River's win was their fourth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Frontier and 3-8 Shadyside (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.6% over those games). As for Fairfield Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
River will head out on the road to face off against Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 194 points over their last four matches. Fairfield Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
