The Chilton County Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Verbena on the road to the tune of 76-29. The win was a breath of fresh air for Chilton County as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Chilton County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Dale out in front who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Yates, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Chilton County's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Verbena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Chilton County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Thorsby at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Thorsby is ranked 334th, while Chilton County is ranked 325th). As for Verbena, they will head out on the road to face off against West Blocton at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. West Blocton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 291 points over their last four matches.
