The McDonough Warhawks posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They skirted past Woodland 50-48. This was payback for McDonough, who suffered a 55-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDonough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zora Hill, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jadah Rembert, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
McDonough's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Woodland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
McDonough will head out on the road to face off against Pace Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pace Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday. As for Woodland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stockbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Stockbridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Woodland in Georgia (Stockbridge is ranked 55th, while Woodland is ranked 208th).
