Regina's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Marian 55-49. While losing is never fun, Regina can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Marian is ranked 46th).
Marian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mckenzie Swanson out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Swanson has scored at least 25% of Marian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly McLeod, who scored 19 points.
Regina's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marian, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Regina will square off against Grosse Pointe North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grosse Pointe North will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Marian will be home for the holidays to greet St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
