The Clay Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Palatka Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clay can't be too worried about heading out to take on Palatka: they just beat Fleming Island at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-1 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.
Malia Collins made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Collins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, D'Reah Watson and Kaelye Rouw did most of the damage at the plate: Watson went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Rouw went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two runs gave Watson a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Palatka was able to grind out a solid victory over Matanzas on Friday, taking the game 5-2.
Palatka let Cali Taylor and Lilyann Smith run wild. Taylor went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Smith went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenley Wilkinson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Palatka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Clay's record now sits at 8-11. As for Palatka, their record is now 12-8.
Clay came out on top in a nail-biter against Palatka in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
