The Hutchison Hawks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. Everything went their way against Nunamiut on Thursday as Hutchison made off with a 54-30 win. Hutchison pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Nunamiut cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Nunamiut still got an impressive performance from Justus Mulcahy, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kevin Gordon, who scored no points along with six steals.
Hutchison's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Nunamiut, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Hutchison will play host again and welcome Valdez, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Valdez will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Hutchison surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nunamiut, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-60 loss vs. Non Varsity Opponent on the 9th.
