It was a good run, but the Captain Shreve Gators unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Thomas More. Captain Shreve was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Thomas More apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Lofton, who scored 15 points. Lofton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ejoshua Mcdonald, who scored 18 points.
Captain Shreve's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for St. Thomas More, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Captain Shreve will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Hamilton Christian at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hamilton Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Thomas More, they will head out on the road to face off against Wossman at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Wossman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
