The Alexandria-Monroe Tigers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Madison-Grant Argylls at 7:00 p.m. Alexandria-Monroe should still be riding high after a big win, while Madison-Grant will be looking to get back into the win column.
Last Friday, Alexandria-Monroe got themselves on the board against Frankton, but Frankton never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over the Eagles on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Alexandria-Monroe just coasted through the last quarter.
Alexandria-Monroe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Cuneo, who threw for six yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes, and also rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Cuneo's longest rush was for an incredible 84 yards. Another player making a difference was Gabe Mcguire, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Madison-Grant unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak two Fridays ago. They took a hard 22-8 fall against Eastbrook. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Madison-Grant in their matchups with Eastbrook: they've now lost nine in a row.
Alexandria-Monroe has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first eight matches, giving them a 7-1 record. As for Madison-Grant, their defeat two Fridays ago dropped their record down to 6-2.
Alexandria-Monroe took a serious blow against Madison-Grant in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 65-21. Will Alexandria-Monroe have more luck at home instead of on the road?
