Cocoa has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Bradford Tornadoes at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 164 points over their last four matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cocoa had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by the Tornadoes at home to the tune of 41-3. The result was nothing new for Cocoa, who have now won 11 matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Cocoa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayvan Boggs, who picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Boggs hasn't dropped below 100 receiving yards for three straight games. Malachi Coney also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Bradford put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They pulled ahead with a 22-21 photo finish over Pensacola Catholic.
Cocoa has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 13-1 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points per game. As for Bradford, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.
Cocoa was able to grind out a solid win over Bradford in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 31-21. Does Cocoa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bradford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
