If the Pomona Panthers were riding high off their 44-18 takedown of the Gateway Olympians two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pomona was outmatched by D'Evelyn at home and fell 59-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pomona has scored all season.
Kendra Ritzmann was Pomona's leading scorer, having posted six points. Ritzmann also led the team in rebounds with 12.
Leila Wilson took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
D'Evelyn got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellie Mcmann out in front who scored 12 points along with nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Scheer, who scored 17 points along with six steals.
Pomona's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for D'Evelyn, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Pomona will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheat Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. D'Evelyn's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evergreen at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Evergreen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
