Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for West Rowan

West Rowan extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 3-1. They blew past the Alexander Central Cougars 10-2. Considering the Falcons have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddox Moore and Carter Durant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Moore tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Durant tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Moore went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Durant went 2-for-4 with one home run. That's the most RBI Moore has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Lefebvre, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Blevins, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

West Rowan lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexander Central didn't launched any.

Having lost for the first time this season, Alexander Central fell to 4-1. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

On Alexander Central's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Graham Hoke also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, West Rowan will take on Concord at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alexander Central, they will square off against North Iredell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
