There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Canyon's senior Seth Leeper-Haney, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Welcome
After a timid eight display the game before, Medina Valley sure wasn't afraid to show off its offense last week. It enjoyed a cozy 41 - 26 win over Boerne. One major factor in the victory was the play of senior Logan Masters, who ran for 179 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. Thanks to its success, Medina Valley cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 21st spot.
Can't Touch This
Canyon got a 46 - 44 win over East View last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Seth Leeper-Haney. Leeper-Haney earned five touchdowns and 199 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Leeper-Haney one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Steele (4th in the power rankings) and Reagan (7th). Steele finished ahead of Reagan by a score of 35 - 30. Steele found its leader in an underclassman: Wyatt Begeal tossed for two touchdowns and rushed for one more, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Clemens (9th in the power rankings) and Reagan (7th). Clemens will be strutting in after a win while Reagan will be stumbling in from a defeat. We'll see if Clemens can add another positive mark to its record or if Reagan can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Clemens's step.
