Coral Park had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Braddock Bulldogs 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since November 29, 2023.

Coral Park was led to victory by Greisy Perdomo and Layla Heaven. Perdomo dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals, while Heaven dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Perdomo is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played.

Coral Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Braddock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Rubiera, who posted 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That was a full 45% of Braddock's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Gabriella Hurtado was another key player, putting up six points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.

The victory got Coral Park back to even at 7-7. As for Braddock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Coral Park will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mater Academy Charter at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Mater Academy Charter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Coral Park surely won't give up without a fight. Braddock has already played their next game, a 43-30 defeat against TERRA Environmental on the 27th.
