Erie (Colo.) went ahead on a touchdown with 9:00 remaining in the third. The Maverick finally took the lead for good when
Griffin Nelson thew a touchdown to
Aaron Cheung with 7:00 remaining in the third quarter.
Mead grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Nelson to Cheung.
The loss ended Erie's two-game winning streak.
In a non-conference game next week Mead (3-0) takes on Skyview, and Erie (2-1) will go up against Northridge also in a non-conference game.
