It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Prairie du Chien ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Viroqua 5-4. Prairie du Chien hasn't had any issues with Viroqua recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Prairie du Chien's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Simmons, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs Simmons has posted since back in April. Westin Marx also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Prairie du Chien's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Viroqua, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie du Chien will welcome Richland Center at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Viroqua, they will host Luther at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
