Anaheim is 7-1 against Los Amigos since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Colonists will look to defend their home field against the Lobos at 3:15 p.m. Anaheim is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.
Anaheim will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Santa Ana Valley on Friday. The Colonists blew past the Falcons 13-2. The Colonists might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.
Abby Barajas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mak Acosta, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kamila Ramirez was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Anaheim kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 14-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Los Amigos finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against Santiago, falling 9-0. The Lobos' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Sophia Gutierrez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
Anaheim is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Los Amigos, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both Anaheim and Los Amigos just can't seem to miss. The Colonists have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Los Amigos struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Anaheim got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Los Amigos by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Colonists have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lobos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
