The Bowman Academy Eagles were the 45-25 winner over the Griffith Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bowman Academy fell just short of Griffith by a score of 43-41. Bowman Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bowman Academy lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kahlen Robinson, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Bowman Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Griffith posted 13 assists.
Griffith's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madyson Ladendorf led the charge by scoring 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Von ogden, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Bowman Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Griffith, their win bumped their record up to 3-18.
Bowman Academy on the road again on Wednesday and play against Lighthouse College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Griffith, they will square off against Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boone Grove is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
