Lynbrook took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Cupertino, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Lynbrook had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 8-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 19-17.
Lynbrook found their leader in freshman Ashley Wilson, who had 22 digs and two assists. Those 22 digs set a new season-high mark for Wilson. Ivy Kuo also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Lynbrook's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Cupertino, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.
