Merrill Posts Huge Game in 34-13 Victory
Starting off the list is St. Anthony's Gary Merrill, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Merrill rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 197 rushing yards dating back to last season.
St. Anthony's pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Merrill and St. Anthony's will head out on the road to face off against Kellenberg Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Julian Guzman was instrumental in extending Iona Prep's winning streak to five on Friday. Guzman did his part (and then some), throwing for 226 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground for the 'W'.
Guzman will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Chaminade on Friday. Guzman will face off against Tim Murphy on Friday, the Flyers' star QB. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

A Season-Best Effort from Xavier Bala Leads St. Anthony's over St. John the Baptist
On Friday, St. Anthony got the W thanks in part to Xavier Bala playing the best football he has all season. Bala rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.
On the year, Bala has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 77.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 17.17 rushing yards per game.

Jesse Osbourne put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in August on Saturday. He rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Archbishop Stepinac is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. Osbourne and Archbishop Stepinac have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Cardinal Hayes at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
