The William Floyd Colonials put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Sachem North at home to the tune of 53-26. The result was nothing new for William Floyd, who have now won three matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead William Floyd to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Gilmore, who scored 24 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gilmore has scored at least 25% of William Floyd's points. Jacqueline Sutherland was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
William Floyd's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Sachem North, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
William Floyd will head out on the road to face off against Ward Melville at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sachem North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
