The Bloomfield Bobcats have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They suffered a tough 55-35 defeat at the hands of Gallup on Friday. Bloomfield lost against Gallup in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-17 score last time.
Despite the loss, Bloomfield still got an impressive performance from Aliya Quintana, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Quintana is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Danielle Johnson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Bloomfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season. As for Gallup, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
Bloomfield is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Miyamura at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Bloomfield is facing Miyamura at the right time seeing as Miyamura is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gallup, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-32 victory vs. Shiprock on the 12th.
