If The Osage Indians were riding high off their 54-0 takedown of the Lutheran South Lancers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Osage fell just short of Warrensburg by a score of 30-28.
Warrensburg was led to victory by Aj Smith and Kobe Westphal. Smith rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while Westphal rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Smith was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Osage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Warrensburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Osage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Warrensburg will face off against Pleasant Hill at TBD on Friday. Pleasant Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Warrensburg likes a good challenge.
