Suncoast is 1-6 against Park Vista since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Suncoast Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Park Vista Cobras at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Suncoast 3.1, Park Vista 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Suncoast fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-4 to the Bulldogs.
Jayden Agudelo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.
Meanwhile, while Park Vista put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Leonard. Park Vista put the hurt on Leonard with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Cobras have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brody Buck looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits.
On the hitting side, Tristan Pokabla was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Casella, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Park Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leonard only posted a batting average of .250.
Park Vista pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Suncoast, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Suncoast has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Park Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Suncoast might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Park Vista in their previous matchup back in February. Will Suncoast have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
