Evergreen had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. Evergreen weren't too far behind, but the team still lost 17-21 to Heritage on Friday. If Evergreen were hoping to take revenge for the 7-34 loss against Heritage the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 0-0.
Evergreen will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Centralia at McKenzie Stadium at 7:00 PM. Heritage are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Hudson's Bay next week at Kiggins Bowl at 5:00 PM.
