Richland is 1-6 against Moore County since August of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Richland Raiders will be staying on the road to face off against the Moore County Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on October 26th. Richland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Moore County is ranked 67th).
Richland fell victim to Eagleville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Eagles on the road and fell 33-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Moore County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 35-10 margin over Forrest. The result was nothing new for Moore County, who have now won eight matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Dawson White continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 75 yards and two touchdowns. White hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Logan Hegwood also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Richland's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.3 points per game. As for Moore County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Richland was dealt a bruising 35-7 defeat at the hands of Moore County in their previous meeting back in October of 2020. Can Richland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
