On Saturday, the Eldorado Golden Eagles faced the Rio Rancho Rams in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eldorado came out on top against Rio Rancho by a score of 59-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eldorado.
Bella Hines continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 53 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Eldorado's points.
Eldorado's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Rio Rancho, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.
Eldorado will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valley at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Eldorado is ranked eighth). Rio Rancho will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Highland at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
