Last Monday, Joliet West slipped by Providence Catholic 51-50. That's two games straight that Joliet West has won by exactly a single point.
Joliet West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maziah Shelton, who scored 14 points. The game was Shelton's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Chism, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest took a serious blow against Glenbard West on Friday, falling 55-20. While losing is never fun, Oak Park-River Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 518th, while Glenbard West is ranked 30th).
Joliet West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Oak Park-River Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
