The Mott Corsairs proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 21) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Notre Dame Prep 36-33. The victory was nothing new for Mott as they're now sitting on three straight.
Ellie Whalen and Sydney T burke certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Whalen scored four points along with eight rebounds and five blocks, while T burke scored 11 points along with two steals. T burke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.
Mott is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Notre Dame Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Mott didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-20 defeat vs. Lakeland on the 6th. Notre Dame Prep has also already played their next game, a 57-46 defeat against Lakeville on the 5th.
