Elysian Fields is 0-4 against Daingerfield since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Daingerfield Tigers at 1:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Elysian Fields and three for Daingerfield.
Last Tuesday, Elysian Fields was beaten by Jefferson 64-37. While losing is never fun, Elysian Fields can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1522nd, while Jefferson is ranked 470th).
The losing side was boosted by McKenzie LeBlanc, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayley Whitehead, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Daingerfield had to suffer through a rough 66-32 loss at the hands of Jefferson. Daingerfield has struggled against Jefferson recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Elysian Fields has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Daingerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Elysian Fields couldn't quite finish off Daingerfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2020 and fell 41-39. Can Elysian Fields avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
