The Dos Palos Broncos are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge the Chowchilla Tribe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dos Palos will be strutting in after a victory while Chowchilla will be coming in after a defeat.
Dos Palos was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pacheco on Friday. Dos Palos was the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Pacheco.
Breann Raney made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Carley Brinkley was incredible, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha VonAllman, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Dos Palos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Chowchilla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kingsburg.
Chowchilla saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Tomlinson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Hadley Ray also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Chowchilla now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Dos Palos, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Dos Palos' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. Dos Palos has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game.
