The Duchesne Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Thursday after their third straight  loss. They fell  42-32 to Bennington. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Duchesne in their matchups with Bennington: they've now lost seven in a row.
 Duchesne lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   June Mullen, who  scored six points along with six  rebounds and five  assists. Mullen hasn't dropped below two  steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addy Kula, who  scored six points along with five  rebounds.
 Duchesne  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only four  offensive rebounds. They  were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bennington  pulled down 12  offensive rebounds.
 Bennington was led to victory by  Skylar Johnson and  Presley Baca.  Johnson  scored 15 points along with seven  rebounds, while  Baca  scored 14 points along with eight  rebounds. Baca has been hot recently, having posted eight or more  rebounds the last three times she's  played.  Reese Almquist was another key contributor,  scoring four points along with seven  rebounds.
 Duchesne has  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last seven matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record  this season. As for Bennington, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.
 Duchesne will be playing at home against Mercy at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Hopefully Duchesne focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. As for Bennington, they will face off against Gretna East at 7:15  p.m.  on Monday. Gretna East is coming into the  contest with three straight  victories on the road,  so Bennington is out to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum.
